This is a lively support package for parent groups and thsoe who work with parents. Illustrated throughout, it provides materials for half-day workshops, helping parents reflect on how they could manage their children's challenging behaviour without resorting to emotional or physical punishment. In a supportive environment, it helps parents to consider what behaviour they find challenging; how adults respond when angry; what children see happening; and how children learn challenging behaviour from adults. It goes on to offer advice on how to help children focus on requests from parents, and how to help children understand and improve their behaviour. The training pack comes with 20 booklets which parents can take home, offering further tips and advice.
